Title: Saltiga Magseal 4500H or Twinpower 5000SWA
Post by: Lenny Lim on March 08, 2012, 05:17:02 PM
Guys,

I am in a bit of a dilemma over what to match with my Yamaga Blue Sniper PE 3-4 7.5ft. Planning to complete this set up for the upcoming trip to Oman.

Which is a more suitable reel to match this rod ?

And you do you guys think about the Saltiga Magseal 4500H ?

Any feedback is welcomed :)

Thanks.

I guess you have a Blue Sniper 75/4?  I pair my Blue Sniper 77/3 with a Twinpower SW 5000 usually loaded with PE3 and sometimes PE2. It is a very nice set up. Can't comment on the new Saltiga 4500.

isn't the 4500 saltiga is more like an 8000 stella - sizewise?

It's a very light rod the blue sniper I'd be puttin a stella 5000sw on it to balance the outfit

I had a z4500 on my light pop outfit and its far too big and heavy, more suited to the next line class up.

You can't go wrong with the twinpower 5k sw, fantastic little reel.

I run a Hyper 4000 on my 70/4 and it is very well balanced - this outfit is one of my favourites and punches well above its weight. The Saltiga 4500 is too big and the Stella 8000 even bigger.

Cheers

Thanks, guys for the vote of confidence on the Twinpower 5000SWA.

Shall stick to that as a pairing with the Blue Sniper.

Cheers and have a great day !

While I'm a shimano man, In the absence of a stella 5000, I have a certate hyper custom 4000 on mine. Worked very nicely on my last trip to Oman ( paired with Yamaga blue sniper 75/4).

In the sub-8000 size, I actually question the need for a Stella and think the Twinpowers do an excellent job for significantly less money (well, less significantly less outside Australia anyway).
