Title: Rod length limit to X-mas Island?
Post by: Nathan Tsao on March 16, 2012, 04:37:19 PM
Wassup guys,

I am wondering what the maximum rod tube length is allowed on the flight to Kiribati. I have a trip planned in early 2013 and would like to bring some 10' buttjoint rods for the shoreline. The tip sections are 8' long. Will the flight accommodate a rod tube of 8'6" in length?

Hi Nathan

The length limit on Air Pacific, according to their website is 292cm 'in dimensions'. I understand this to mean length + width + height has to be under 292cm. I have taken tubes up to 220cm in length to CXI. I guess you would have to check with any other airline you are flying with as well.

Regards

Duncan

We took 13' one piece rods on Air Pacific last trip in 2007 in a 6" PVC tube plus another 8' Plano 6" in diameter.  Just call ahead.
