Title: CAIRNS 22 FEB - Now with Video!!!

I't's been pretty average weather lately in the Far North, and I had considered my boat mothballed for a while, but got up this morning and with light winds, made a snap decision for a trip. 

A quick call to Simmo and before long we were off.  Got to the reef around 9am.  Had to be a relatively short mission 'cause Simmo was on arvo shift, but managed to find a few decent G's to make it worthwhile. 

Simmo started the day with a Bass..

and a small Turrum before the G's turned up.  Had a pretty hot session for a while though some of the takes were a bit timid...

I was using a Gold Carpenter stick which worked pretty well...

Until I hooked this damn tackle-wrecker.  Must have just got the angles wrong... another busted lure for the trophy room

Then I switched over to an old favourite Haymaker, though it was nearly time to go home.  All in all, a pretty good day.  Home and cleaned up by 4pm, just before (more) rain!

PS: I also got some nice footage on the video camera so I'll load it up on youtube when I get around to it.

Great report Stephen... looks like a pretty good time out there.... and done by 4PM....!! Nice!! The way my fishing has been going on this end of the world, or lack thereof, If I caught all  those fish in a weeks worth of lure chucking I'd be stoked!!!

Gotta luv those days of calm water, plenty of bait fish and the g's are on the bite, awesome video.
Also looked liked you weren't wearing a gimball??
