Bought my first poppers yesterday (besides a Gillies i've had for a while). The brand is Captiva and the models were Komachi and Yamoto. They both come standard with Owner ST76 trebles and 11H rings (I think theyre 11H - they're owner hyperwire anyway). The box states "Australian design and Japanese technology".
The Komachi is a 15cm cone popper with a black finish with chuncks of mother of pearl through it. Pretty spectacular - and the finish commands and extra $10 on the standard colours. It cost $AUS39.95.
The Yamoto is a 20cm rear weighted dumbell style popper and came in at $AUS29.95.
The finish looks real nice, the eyes are a bit dodgy but overall they're pretty good.
The reason I posted up is because I couldn't find any info on either google or this site about them. Anyone have any info? For the price they seem bloody good (relative to some of the figures I see thrown around on here!!!)

I've seen these very recently but I've never used them before myself.

The poppers you are talking about were a compulsory buy for all the stores in the 'Tackleworld' group.
They are reasonably cheap and have good harware on them however I used them recently in Fiji and wasnt overly impressed with their action.

I saw them at Otto's at Drummoyne - Tackleworld
With an endorsement like that, I don't think I'll be looking to get them!

They are made in Vietnam with the std Gillies poppers, basically an upgrade version of Gillies Poppers, better finish and hardware.

Randy loves Otto's :-\ ;)

Mick, after Peter's assessment of them, you're advertising them?! :D :D

Yeah Greg is spot on.
The longer ones are exact copies of the Gillies but with better harware.
