Title: Help Changing to Carbontex Drag Washers on Shimnano Spheros 14000

Hi All

Using advice on here I have the washers and have the spool off the reel but cant seem to get the little washer on the centre post off and am concerned that if I force it I will damage it wih bad consequences when hooked up next!

Can any one help please??

are you talking about the washer that holds the gear for the ratchet, if so why do you have to take it off ??

Yep - Playing with the reel now Im sure thats what it is. It is the sereated ring U see when the spool is removed. There are instructions on the Smoooth Drag web site and an exploded diagram of how to do it which seems to me to suggest that I need it off.

I also have all the screws out of the reel case and cant get inside at all to look at other options.

Rob, the drag washers are in the sealed compartment with the 4 screws (in red) , the casing inside is a bit challenging and you may get a few scratces, but once opened it's self explainatory. Be wary handling the new washes as they don't flex and snap easy.
