luke,
I remember a while back, you were experimenting with FG/PR type knots that did away with all the half hitches up to the burnt blob and along the main line. I remember you'd looked at finishing them differently after the initial binding. I can't find what the end result of those tests were - did you come up with a reliable and quicker way to finish off, or is 10 minutes of half hitching still the only way?

I simply can't think of any option. Even if you did not use half hitches, you still have to finish it with some kind of knot.I'd stick with what I know works well.

Sorry, missed this one.
I'm not a fan of half hitches. I finished off with a uni style knot that bites into the leader. I'll post some other findings when I have some time.

if you practice enough the pr knot shouldnt really take any longer than 5 mins max.
