Is there a special needle that you need to splice Tuf XP? I've tried and it doesn't seem to be as hollow as the Jerry Brown I have, the needle keeps coming out the side of the braid...
Do I need to get one of those splicing kits or can I get something from like a tapestry shop? Not that I've EVER been to one of those before!
Cheers

I have no expertise whatsoever when it comes to splicing braid.
I think that TF XP is only hollow from the 130lb onwards.

David, Tuf line is not as easy as jerry brown, JB almost splices itself. Just get a small splicing needle (see pic), I've acquired some through both campbells and wellsys. It just a bit more fiddly. XP that I have come across is not hollow, so there is no true centre, you just have to tunnel through the braid in what would be the approximate centre. I've spliced down to 30lb, it starts to a bit tricky but 50 to 100lb is not to much of a drama.
