Any guidance and advice on leader poundage recommended for smaller GT's in the 10kg range and Emperors in the 8kg range fished in rough terrain.
Depth of water 3m-4m of water with lots of rocks and coral snags.
I've loaded my reel 10000sw with PE6 and will be using 8.5kg drag from the reel.
Just need to sort out my leaders.

Minimum 80 lbs but feel more comfortable 100 lbs when using PE6 .

Do I need to go that heavy to 100lb for those small fish? Terrain is rough but was thinking 70lb leader will be ok.

Kevin,
Would you be gutted if something a little bigger than 10kg crashed the party? ;)

Most unlikely ;)
The Emperors will get me before the bigger GT. The GTs are seasonal and don't think I'll encounter bigger than a 10kg.
I will be tatgetting mostly big emperors on a 60g stickbait.
