new record for what?

New record for the angler's personal GT achievement and for the operation's biggest GT taken on popper.

amazing effort, Denis

"no line out" is a meaningless concept for fish this size!

Depends on the terrain , " no line out " may be the only option but ofcourse with such a big sized GT in the worst schenario , one may need PE12 ( 170 lbs. ) with very stout rod n reel + superb boathandling + capable angler + lucks to subdue such fish , assuming the fish fights to death too because some big fish may fight less than the smaller cousins .

No doubt a fantastic achievent , congratulation .

Jon .

David is based at Mont Dor? near Noum?a

due to de very bad weather, only 2 weeks popping.
The fishing conditions was really not favourable.

With a good physical preparation, we were not too tired. But it was still hard!

no marlin..............
no sailfish...............
no yft........................
only GT, red bass, coral trout, grouper, baracuda, dogtooth tuna, gold spot, rainbow runner, amberjack, king maquerel.

That's a MONSTER GT! By looking at all the pictures, I guess Le Poisson Banane has some really big GT swimming around?

Hi Denis

Great pics mate, I realy liked the sand eching look on one of those shots, you will have to tell me how you did that  ;) Looks like a truly amazing place to fish, but it looks like the fish were easier to catch than the sea-gull. Congratulations on an awesome fish , I am truly green with envy.
N.C. is definatly on the must do list after seeing your report.
Cheers Chris
