Title: Budget GT rod?
Post by: Dimitrije Stojicic on December 11, 2012, 12:14:44 PM
Hey guys, I am travelling up to the whitsundays at the end of the month and looking to do a bit of GT fishing. I am hoping to get a rod under 400 for some smaller action. Most of the fishing will be landbased but we will have a yacht we can fizh around the islands with. From the range i have seen in a few of my local tackle shop, i have basically narrowed my options down to the followi g:

Daiwa Monster mesh max $200
Daiwa demon blood $299
Shimano terez 78H $299

Daiwa saltiga 80tn $399- which is what i am leaning towards...

If you have used any of these rodz or could recommend some others, it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Dim

Just remember all Terez rods are one piece and therefore useless if traveling.

$200 bucks for the monster mesh max is very cheap in the popper rod.

Saltiga is always going to be the best.

Have a look at shimano ocea series of rods as well.
