Very nice work from Ed and great video from Kil. I reckon he "sits down" as effectively as anyone I have seen fighting a big Geet. Love that cheeky walk at 1.05 :) .
Should also say how well the Black Hole Cape Cod Special Popping rod (graphite version) did with that fish - the biggest GT I have ever seen in person.
-
Hi Mark
Do you recall the length of that one? looked thick in the tail....
-
146 cm fl measured in haste Clem.
First measure was 136 cm which was clearly wrong (muppet here to blame for holding the tape wrong :-[ :-[) and it was done again. Lot of rushing as keen to get the fish back into the water.
You observation about thickness is spot on - a very thick fish. You can see in this picture here:

Epic catch, Ed...awesome fight, Bro!!! 8)
-
Big fish! congrats!
long time no water for the fish though.... glad it got tagged.... lets see who brings that monster in again!
-
Congrats to Ed! Monster for sure!
Mark, was just wondering how the Blackhole compares to other rods, like Carpenter & Ripple fisher?
-
Congrats on the great catch
Do you think the rod need to be a tad more parabolic especially at this length?
-
Rick, the most obvious answer to your question is that this rod is 40% of the price of a Carpenter or Ripple!
It is not trying to compete with those exceptional offerings. Rather, it is the best sub $500 rod I have ever seen in action.
