Hi guys,
Can anyone comment on either of these lines to spool up for mid/heavy casting, looking at 65/80lb?
Standard Power Pro or the Super 8 Slick premium braid.
Reliability, knot strength etc.
Thanks for your help!
Cheers David

Hi David ,
80 lbs version is more reliable on standard Power Pro , not sure about the Super Slick Premium version though as I have never tried one before .

Just loaded my spool with Power pro Hollow for next weeks trip will let you know how it goes. Heard alot of good stories about Hollow Power Pro. never used standard as its quiet rough. The Super Slick 8 is awesome for casting. But in the UAE and Oman water is very salty and didnt last long.

I've used power pro super8 slick for about 2 years now and it is has become my favourite non-Japanese braid. If you are looking at this for GT you definitely want the 80-lb.
A few things compared to regular power pro:
*8 weave Vs. 4
*for a given lb test super 8 has larger diameter (some by quite a bit)
Other notes:
* it is very round (80-lb super 8 is more round than YGK ultracastman PE8 with similar diameter. YGK of course has higher breaking strain at least per label.)
*be careful with FG knots as it has tendency to cut itself (compare to softer Japanese braids)- i get around this by carefully tightening each termination turn. This will get worse with lighter lines. For light tackle I will not recommend anything below 30lb.
Hope that helps.
