Spoke to Daiwa Australia, it's only Jdm models.  The magnetic fluid is a different type to Aus model reels.
If you have a Jdm model Daiwa Aus Service centre can replace the fluid.

Why on earth would they use a different fluid for JDM versus international reels!?

With the amount of grey market imports around in many different countries, the fail-safe to is to reference the serial number. That's really good info Jon.
