Title: Fiji - Taveuni
Post by: Rob Powell on February 10, 2014, 10:03:35 PM
Hi all,

I'm a long time lurker, hopefully soon to be report contributor!

I'm travelling to Taveuni, Fiji in March and will hopefully have the chance to have a shot at GTs and/or Dogtooth. The holiday is primarily a break with the Mrs, however I will probably be able to sneak some shore based sessions in and maybe a day or half day charter.

Would appreciate any information that can be shared on the location, suggestions for getting on the water and any general tackle tips (lures, outfits etc). I'm a newbie GT angler so I'm pretty much starting from scratch in terms of tackle!

I've had a browse here and have contacted Makaira By The Sea who appears to be a good operator. Are there any other options?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Rob

Oh dude.  Let me know how you do- I am headed in August (first time also, also with wife).
We are staying at Paradise, who I guess takes people out fishing, or can.
Whether they are good or not is a different story.
Makaira sounds top notch for the area.  I don't know if I should go with paradise or get a lift back north to Makaira...
Good luck!
