Title: Jigging arm!
Post by: David Noble on June 12, 2008, 09:31:09 AM
Still a newbie to jigging and I love it. I only get out jigging every couple of months.  I'm finding it easier, getting a bit more of a feel for it and have seen my catch rate improving!
One thing I'm wondering is about, 'jiggers arm', or more specifically jiggers armpit!   :-[  ::)
How do you deal with armpit bruising or some pain after a day out bouncing 250g jigs and mid size fish using your armpit as a pivot!
The boat I fish from has high rails (I'm short) and I tend to fight the fish from my armpit more than the gimball.
I'm thinking if this is magnified, eg, days on end and bigger than mid size kings, this could interfere on a trip!

Advice appreciated  :)

Cheers Dave

Do you have it under your armpit, or jammed in your armpit  ??? If thats the case, buy a rod with a longer butt, or think about extending your current butt ::)

G'day Ben,

Normal rod and technique.
ps, Problem has been solved now since my chiro appointment last night. The golf ball knots I had in places were causing nerve pain...yikes!
I guess I've just started training for an upcoming trip to New Cal and have pushed it too quickly.

cheers Dave.  :)
