Hi Daniel, in my experience, it's OK to tie "normal" knots (FG) with hollow core braid. I haven't seen the need to splice in a leader for GT popping. Will be interested to see if anyone thinks otherwise.

I use a Yucatan as my leader connection with the knot outside the tip eye so I splice a loop in the mainline and connect from there, what I like about hollow is I can do a super long splice all the way to the reel making the braid by my finger thicker. I cast pretty hard and PE lines eat my gloves finger tips.
