Title: '13 Stella 14000 Spool for '08 Stella 8000 SW
Post by: Shannon Poulton on August 12, 2014, 12:15:52 AM
Have seen plenty of posts about replacements spool options for '08 Stella 8-10ks

I have a JM 16000 spool for my 10k PG (jigging setup), but with these sold out everywhere in AU that I could look, I needed another option for a standard speed 8000 that I took to Vanuatu last week to fish alongside my 18000.

I had seen a bit of talk about the interchangeability of the new '13 Stella 14000XG spool and thought I'd give it a go.

Ordered a Yumeya 14000 from Japan, and no - not a straight swap. Got my hands on a replacement metal shaft washer (which is significantly smaller in diameter) + spacers and bingo, everything appeared to be working perfectly.

Last week was the real test though and happy to report faultless performance over three days of Vanuatu topwater.

5 spaces was the magic number for me. From the schematic you'll need to order:

26 (x3)
27 (x1)
