Title: Deluxe monster braid.
Post by: Lucas Nixon on February 02, 2015, 05:51:28 PM
Hi,

Anyone used the Deluxe Monster Braid?

Would be interested to know knot strength, castability and durability.

Looking to grab some as back up for extended fishing trips from PE 3 through to PE 9.

Appreciate any comments.

Chances are it's average if nobody knows it. I would not risk it on an extended trip.

Hey Felix,

Thanks for reply. Yea true I can't find much on it other than what Nomad Sportfishing has said see below.

Definitely appreciate the comments and thoughts of members of this forum so would love to hear others opinions.

"Monster Braid is made in Korea to the highest manufacturing standards, and represents an excellent value for Money braid alternative to expensive Japanese options. We have used this braid on charter and found it to be excellent value for money, good wearing and great knot strength. Highly reccomended".

Haven't heard anything about it mate. Nomad are also tackle distributors so I'm sure it's a case of them promoting this because they sell it.

Check out Jerry Brown - well priced and the performance is excellent.

Thanks for replies guys.

Currently spools are either  carrying JB from PE 8 - PE 10 or Varivas Avani PE 8 - PE 10. Using a mixture of SAS braid and Daiwa Tournament Hyper for PE 2 - PE 6 on casting rods. Jigging wise I'm using Daiwa Accudepth and Linesystem Frog Braid PE 8 - 10.

May look at getting some bulk JB or Tufline as back up for upcoming trip to Vanuatu.

Thanks again for comments and if you have any comments on the above mentioned lines feel free to send them through as it's all appreciated.

Cheers,

Lucas.
