Went fishing for a few trout out of Cairns today but couldn't resist getting the poppers out in search of some GT's.
Found them mean and hungry and had a short but action packed session with the best around 15kg on a Roosta. Also lost a solid black Coral Trout near the boat when the hooks pulled. Here's a couple of snaps

Very nice GT's , love the second pic - looks great..... Well done. DO you have to travel far to find those Trevors?

That was less than an hour from the ramp. First time I've fished that spot but won't be the last!

Stephen if the conditions are like those behing you in the pic then I would be out their all the time. Is their a bommie that breaks or a pinnacle that rises, not that I want you to give it away but I am always seeking new info/ideas of ground to explore.

nah, no breakers or sharp drop-offs, just bommie country in about 20ft of water.
cheers,
steve
