Ditto on the Jigwrex
June 17, 2008, 09:44:41 AM
I am also looking at a Jigwrex Spin 526 to fit in between my JM Powerspell500 80lb combo and my TC 200 50lb outfit, any comments and passing on of experiences would be appreciated.

  Thanks

I assume you want to run PE6 Greg?

I am a real fan of the PE5 stick. Awesomely light and balanced with nice action.

Right on Luke, I am after something in the 60-70lb range for 200-300gm jigs for mechanical jigging. The S526 has the specs in length etc but I don't want a rod to stiff., also thinking of running a Saragosa on it. I have a Samurai rod which is a good 60lb rod but is 6ft which seems a bit long for mechanical jigging style.

I'm ringing him Sat night mate, the answer is yes and I will pass on the congrats ;D. He's cruising as normal [professional stirrer] ::), and I think he has an upgrade at work to. I am trying to work out a time frame so I can get into some  white Is  kingies with him.
How's things in WA, everything back to normal  :-\.

Hi Greg,

I have the JW526S and it is a very nice stick.....yet to catch anything serious on it yet....but it has a nice action for working jigs 350-500gms and plenty of balls when fully loaded. Testing it at home I have run 12kg of drag through it and I would personally say that would be the max drag that I would seriously knuckle down on a fish with through it.

Cheers,

Ian

I know

Luke, I have replaced my Saragosa with a 20000SW on my Jigwrex with Jigman PE6 for the medium Kiwi jigging over Xmas, keeping a 20000FA on a JM500 with PE8 for the heavier stuff. The Jigrex is my goto rod at the moment and busting to test the SW on it.
