Amberjack Madness

Matt Kilpatrick, Pete Wilson and Myself headed for a session off Moreton on Saturday.  The weather was a bit choppy and gusty but OK to fish.  Got a couple of good snapper early on the soft plastics then decided to hunt for some jigging ground.  A couple of hours later we found some ground and went for it.  Matt was the first to get smashed on his Saltiga 6500  and soon an 8kg Amberjack was in the bag.  Pete nailed one next and then I did.  Then I decided to try and land one on the old trusty 6500 Baitrunner and sure enough, after a good tug of war another Ambo was in the bag.  5 x 8kg Ambo's in total and a couple of snaps and it was time to head back in.  Amazing whale show during the day as well.

The jig I used to get the 5th Ambo on the Baitrunner (lots of fun) was a Williamson 300g Knife Jig with the assist hook on the side.  I can't remember what it's called.  The fluro glow one caught a double header of undersize Ambo and Kingie and the Blue/silver coloured one nailed the 8kg ambo.

Loads of fun !!!
