Whitsunday trip
November 26, 2009, 10:40:22 PM
A mate and I did a bit of a fly fishing road trip. I threw in the popping outfit to break up the swf.
We hit Hervey bay and got a golden on the flats...
then onto the whits for some GT's and fun. We are both new to the game but these G's didn't get any line off the stella 18k and Wild Violence. The lures which did the damage was Fullscale Kongs in "cherry head" and "ranga". Well thats what we called them anyway.
A friendly turtle...

Nice fish, great work. Yet to get to the Whitsundays for GT's...prime country. Did you work hard for them or were they pretty easy to find?

When we found them we had 2 work hard for them but there were plenty there if that makes sense.
Let me explain that better, there weren't fish apparent in many spots. yet when we found fish, there was a few of them, but we had to work for them. Bear in mind that we are both relative newcomers to GT fishing.

Voltz.....so good to see you guys were colour coordinating.
Red Buff and "cherry head"
Ranga and the "ranga"
Great fish mate. They look like really early model Kongs, they have morphed quite a bit since then

Yeah mate, when these ones die I will order some more
The Gee's were sitting very hard on the structure and a couple of times we threw the poppers onto the rocks as the fish were at their base, like jack fishing from 60m with 130lb line
Any new models or colours coming soon?
Check the head on this bastard
and this one- jet black in the water!
got some permit too.
and plenty of spotties
