I apologise if I have misinterpreted the details of the video, but definitly I have not in anyway felt disturbed by the video. So there is no need, absolutly none at all, Dr Mark, to make this a personal issue.
But I do feel a little unfair and uncalled for, for Liu to throw that challenge. I have fished with you, Dr Mark, before and I understand you find nothing wrong in a fishing trip being competitive among anglers, so you may find it alright. But I am only expressing my very own opinion.
Why would you want to apply light pressure to the spool if you wanted your spool to be smoother? That very little pressure is exactly what I was highlighting. Again, it is just my own opinion and I have qualified by stating much earlier, I have no experience with an overhead setup.
A person's opinion may not always be right, like how someone can feel so put off by a rod that he gives it away the very first time after he has used it but only later came to realise and became a big fan. So in cases like that, there is absolutly no content of a personal issue. Appreciate your effort of putting things in the right perspective Dr Mark, but the effort to project me as being personal against JM is really uncalled for. Period.
Andrew, I do agree with you that Liu is a very experienced and technical jigger. Its just me not being able to appreciate the undermining of a weaker jigger (again, not weak but weaker) just to highlight one's superiority. I'm afterall just a leisure angler.
