Reel for carpenter TBL80/20
February 15, 2011, 05:28:03 AM
First, I have to introduce myself. I'm Ralph, 22 years old and living in the Netherlands,

I've make some plans for an fishing trip to the Mediterranean this year. Targets will be: Albacore and bluefin up to 50lbs, amberjack and maybe sailfish.

I already bought an carpenter TBL80/20 at seawoodtackle.com. At the moment the only reel I have is an accurate SR20. Which is in my opinion a bit to heavy.

What is the perfect reel and PE line for this rod. I prefer as light as possible.

Thanks in advance....

Ralph, you are aware that the TBL80/20 is only a PE2-4 rod? Depending on the line weight you want to use and how much line you need, you could look at anything from a Stella 5000 to 8000.
If it swims; I want to catch it!

Thanks Brandon,

I've bought an TW5000SW and soon I will buy a stella 10000.

What kind of braid (pe) is suitable for this setup?

Your Twinpower SW5000 would seem well matched to the rod Ralph.
