Fishing shops in Singapore

Hi guys,

following on from Sachin CHAUDHRY's thread about shops in Hong Kong, does anyone know of any good shops in Singapore? A friend is heading there in 2 weeks time and is happy to bring some gear back. Addresses would be much appreciated.

I recall that Brandon stated there was a good selection of stores. I am looking to pick up a Daiwa 6500 Dogfight and something like a Carpenter Wild Violence/LGM SP78XH to match, depending on what my mate can find. I have already spotted a Dogfight on the web for SD1100 which is only Au$860. Can't ignore that value.

Cheers,
Fraser
PS My mate STEPHEN also from this forum is so sick of waiting for the weather to improve in Cairns, he has bought a fish tank and some fingerling Barramundi so he can sit and watch them! They are smaller than any of his poppers.

Hi Fraser,

Here are some shops you might want to ask your friend to visit:

Anglers Hut - Ripple Fisher and carpenter and a whole host of jigging and popping stuff. 10 Bussorah Street

Anglers Outfitter - Smith and Accurate products. 20 Bali Lane

Sabre Tackle - lots of reels and lures. 285 Beach Road

Deep Sea - reels and lures. 267A Beach Road.

Not sure if there's any stock for Carpenter rods - you might want to check with Jon Li who's in this forum as well.

Here's a website of tackle shops: http://www.handlinefishing.com/whosfishing/tacklesdirectory.htm

Cheers

Hi Fraser. A couple of EBay stores also operate out of Singapore. I do not know if they have a retail outlet as such but you could check out an EBay store called Shimreels and see if you can get some gear off them. From this store I have bought a number of Stellas, a Caranx Kaibutsu DM, a Wild Violence and .....well you get the picture. This dealer has proven to be excellent as far as heavy duty popping, jigging and trolling gear is concerned.
Well worth checking out if he does operate a retail outlet as well.

Jarvis from Shimreel only operates an eBay store, not retail.
If it swims; I want to catch it!
