Maldives 3
November 11, 2014, 03:18:06 AM
Yesterday we returned from another trip on Maldives, as the pracrice shows - the last journeys were much more gripping and interesting for fishing, but inspite of not big number of fish - it was a wonderful journey with a great company - it was a compensation for lack of fish. The first few days the weather is awful - stormy wind with tropic rains changing with sunshine.
The first days we constantly fished with poppors as real anglers (as the practice showed  it was a great mistake) - we paid attention to this fact only by the end of the 3rd day - when we approached the fishing spot and after throwing a popper all the fish wend down.
On the 4th day we decided to change the tacktics - we started fishing on stick baits and from this moment the fishing inproved.
The attacks became more friquent and besided GT the other fish jumped on the hook. Very soon we caught a big 20kg Dogtooth.
By the 6th fishing day the weather became good and fishing more successful.
In contract to the spring the fish was bigger (and more powerful), min 8 kg GTs, but we caught not more than 12 kg GT.
But thanks to this trip we managed to realise a lot in behaviour and habits of this wonderful fish,  technics of bait leading, experience grew.
On the best day  we caught 5Gts for 2, one cut and nearly 6 outs for attacks.
Vlad was with us (he specializes on jig - thanks to that I gained experience in this way of fishing, learned a lot.
The funnies place was full of sharks and jig became very gripping.
In general the fishing gets a satisfactory mark.
Rods: Patriot Design Black Diamond 77, Carpenter MH 80 H, Fisherman Monster CC 77 GTS, 74 GTS, Zenaq (unfortunately I don't remember the model)
Reels: Shimano Stella SW 18000, SW 20000, Daiwa Saltiga 5000, 6000, Z 6500 H(Dogfight), Penn Battle 8000.
Baits: Fisherman S Pop 160 Hp tail, Long Pen, Paro Paro 150, Stick baits - Fisherman Delta 4 - 90&110.
