Hi folks,
Sharing a video report on fishing 4 days at Voli Voli, Fiji with 3 mates.
Firstly, while I enjoy cooking for others, I must say that fishing out of a resort is very luxurious. All three meals provided with the friendliest of Fiji hospitality. Drinks at the bar plus message to soothe tired muscles weren't a feature of our previous trips.
Nick Darling runs a top notch guiding service out of a 35ft centre console which handles any swell with ease. As previously mentioned, he makes the long commutes to deserted bommies and coral uprisings to ensure access to remote areas with less fishing pressure.
Fishing wasn't red hot, possibly due to the tail end of Cyclone Pam which hit Vanuatu the week before. When we found those classic signs of tidal flow and bait combined with a drop off, the fish weren't too far away and ready to wrestle you back into the sharp stuff!
