I'm a fan of the really short bimini too, I have had issues with longer biminis catching on the stripper.
I think what I tie is the same as Neils finger bimini but without a cleat or fixed hanger.
Hold the mainline and tag end in one hand and spin the short loop with the other as per normal. Once I get enough turns in to the knot, I put the tag end between my teeth so I can then use one hand to hold tension on the mainline and the other on the loop end. Start with the loop end tight around 2 fingers then spread the loop by moving your fingers apart. If your fingers get too far apart, as in the loop gets too big, just pause and add extra twists to the loop end to tighten it down. Finish with a half hitch and rizzuto. Quick and easy
