Ok this has probably been done before but I'm after a new gimble belt.

Keen to here what everyone is using and the pro's and cons of each like are the back supports worth having or not :-\

go the Fisherman flat harness, I tell you! On the back support belts, I think the HOTs is better than the Fisherman. If you want a back support, you're much better off having a proper back brace. The back support belts really only provide marginal support.

The other belt I use from time to time is a GT Max. I like this too but I prefer the Fisherman.
If it swims; I want to catch it!

Well summarised Brandon.

I like the Fisherman pad system but as Brandon mentioned, negligible support. They are simply comfortable and functional.

I know it's not in the same league as the others on this post, but is the Saltiga Popping Belt worth investing in?  It's pretty cheap and very transportable.

Cheers,
Simon

Mine consist of Pelagique waist harness n Manta gimbal belt , I wear the waist harness all the time onboard and only put the Manta gimbal when actually fishing , this system will work with any gimbal and I happen to have Braid Manta gimbal n suit me fine .

I have the hots gimble belt and highly recomend it. It is very light and compact you can easily wear it all day and gives great support for fighting fish.

Thanks for the help guys, I think I will be getting a new Fisherman flat harness.

Simon.. I fished with the Daiwa popping belt (small pad) at Bugatti reef in April and found it to be a great light weight belt. Very comfortable and  easy to use all day. I will be keeping the light belt for a lot of my fishing but need a better belt when jumping in the ring with the monster class as I found the light belt slipped a bit when under pressure .

Hi Mick

yes, Sevenseas have a back support belt which they call the Power Lifting Support brace or belt or something like that. It's expensive for a back support belt though. I think they are something like 12000 to 14000 JPY which would mean something like a $200 belt here. Dunan would be able to bring one in for you for sure if you wanted it.

They look a lot stronger than the Fisherman back support belt.

You already got a GT or Tuna max or were you actually able to sell that one?   ;D

If anyone needs a massive back support like the Seven Seas then you probably shouldn't be popping  ;D ;D ;D :-*
