Looks like a pretty remote place Jeen. Are the waters mostly calm or is there swell and breakers?

Would be interested in getting over there if not for the fishing but also the experience.

A portable sounder comes in handy at places like that - lucky iv got mates at Lowrance ;)

Happy New year Guys!

Luke, These islands are about an hours flight off the the south west coastof India. Actualy an extentention of the north most atolls of Maldives.
The weather is much like in Maldives. The sea relaievly calm except for the winward side of the island group at times. Though nothing compared to NC in winter  ;)!

Tell me if you are interested to make a trip that side you can team up with David and Rudy come Nov this year and maybe check out some Masheer  in the North.

For sure Jeen. Let me know.

Have you fished the windward side yet?

Thanks for the compliment Sami. You are right, the time I fish with the kids is priceless. Here is a scenario where there is no competion or ego among the fishermen on the same boat, vying against each other ::)!. But hell, that dosent stop the boys competing among themselves  ;D.

Luke, The windward side is where the big boys are!THe only problem is that the captian finds it abosolutely impossible to  control the boat if you hook up. These boats are pretty minimal with an  old diesel engine that generates hardly 5 knots on the max.
Last year we hid get some serious hook ups and got the boat pulled right ino the shallow reef!
This year we tried it only once and didnt even make one cast as the boat was rolling pretty nasty and we chickened out!
