Popping central/south america?

Galapagos - Went there a few years ago; don't think it's a great popping spot.  I think the main fishery is striped marlin.

Fished the mainland of Ecuador; it was horrible.  Tons of commercial netting and no catch and release of billfish, roosterfish, or anything else.

Hi, I am From El Salvador Central America. There are no GT's in Central America, however, we have an abundance of:

Jack Cravelle (avg weight: 5-25lbs),

Roosterfish (avg weight:20-80lbs),

Cubera Snapper (avg weight:8-60lbs),

Snook (avg weight:4-45lbs),

Big Bull Dorados(avg weight:10-65lbs),

YFtuna(avg weight: 10-200lbs)

Blue Marlins (avg weight:200-1000lbs)

Groupers (avg weight:20-400lbs)

I am from Panama, Rep Panama,  Central America...!
also need to add:

Amberjacks (4- 100lbs)
Black Mariln, Stripe...
Jack Crevalle ( 4 - 35 or more!)
Tarpon  ( 4- 110lbs)

all of them nice fights !

Francisco, yes you are right!
however, we dont have the big amberjacks in our coasts  they are very rare in El Salvador.

I have heard from friends that close to the panama canal, you can find tarpons (from the atlantic) in the pacific side!
is it true??

Yes  thats a yes for sure! is a really strong Fish! 
It can be on river, lake or ocean!

We have them here also  here in Panama, some friends  have catch up to 105lbs Tarpon!  to land them is the thing !

I can put you onto a reasonably cheap panga trip in Puerto Vallarta, MX  with some guys that know the fishery and are popping and jigging Guru's

Panama has to be the spot though. I was there about a month ago and there was tuna for africa along with blues and blacks. Cubera snapper are a great scrap on popper gear.
