Beaten by the pupils
February 12, 2008, 12:49:50 PM
I have had two trips out this year chasing Ambo's, each time I have taken a complete greenhorn [in all ocean fishing] with me and each time they caught the biggest fish straight after me showing them what to do, it makes it all worthwhile hearing 'simply awesome' 'this is unreal' 'unbelievable' muttered under strained breath. In the first trip I hooked the biggest fish and should have kept my honor in tack but got sharked.

Trip 1  07/01/08
3 Ambo's + mixed reef

Trip 2  09/02/08
11 Ambo's + 3 Kingies + Storm

Boy, the trip last week was good. How big was the storm?
If it swims; I want to catch it!

We just copped the edge of the storm half way back to Mooloolaba, it wasn't overly bad, a few bumps and rain, but 'oh boy' the look in Chris's eyes every time lightning flashed :o, Classic ;D

Greg are you based on the sunshine coast?

there is a possibility I will be heading over to the noosa festival of surfing again and would be good to get out for a jig while I am over......

I usually stay with mates at sunshine beach

Yeah Mike, downtown Mooloolaba, heart and soul of the 'Sunny Coast', 20 minutes drive from Sunshine Beach. I know the Noosa Surfing Festival is on in early March, which dates are you here. I hope you can bring some good jigging weather as all we have had [except 3 days] is surfing weather since Xmas.

I haven't thought too much about the 'Doggies' lately Luke, finding weather good enough to get out lately has been a problem and frustrating. :( I did give some poppers a workout [and me] for an hour and a half on the high spots on top of the Barwon Banks with no luck, it was even quiet trolling for Pelagics :-\.
