"Yesterday the guys caught a 158cm GT in Southern Oman! Tomy was guiding the clients and they caught just the one fish for the day but it was a donkey! The fish must be close to 70kgs!!

I'm heading down with my Dad, Richard and Darryl next week so hopefully we might get a few chances at some big fish!!

Really amazing fish! There have been a few of these big fish over the last few months seen and lost but not any landed so really well done to get this fish to the boat! The fish was caught on a trip from SWI and Tomy guiding.

Congratulations to the fisherman, congratulations to Tomy, a excellent fisherman,  is now an excellent fishing guide in  Oman, a little young when I was there, but as we say  "the  value does not expect the number of years"
South Oman is definitively a great destination for big GT

Hello guys

I am the happy fisherman of this great fish. It was huge ; 1.58 cm length. I estimate the weight about 65-70 kgs. Fight was heavy, with a U-turn under the boat !

Tackle was : Zenaq Fokeeto 83-7, Avani line 100 lbs, et popper Orion T-Rex blue, hook Decoy 10/0.
Release was done in good conditions.
Fishing was poor : this is the one and only GT we caught during the week... Lots of small fishes on light tackle.

Hope others trips will be more productive.

George thank you for your comments, Eric will be happy to learn that T-REX has caught this very nice GT  , fishing is sometimes difficult in Oman, it is probably not a destination to take a very big score as can be to the Andaman Islands, contrariwise,  big GT are realy  present in Oman.
In french,  pas de peson sur le bateau ?

non, pas de peson :-(, ni de mesure type IGFA pour le catch and release. Too bad...
But, in my opinion, it might be dangereous for the fish to try to weigh it on the boat when it is too heavy.
Eric is already happy, I sent him pictures..
In my last trip in Andaman Island, 2 years ago, 2 GT, one 28 kgs.

I am probably a younger fox :-)). I read your trip. Very interesting. Tomy told me about your double catch. Great.
I wil buy a peson before next trip.
I went to Andaman before (about 2004-2005). Great fishing with Laurent Montels. My precedent record was caught there (40 kgs). And in 2011, huge red snapper in Panama with Olivier Charpentier.
