April 18, 2008, 08:55:18 PM
hello every one ..

I am wondering if there is any one out there are using stella 20 000 reel for stick bait ??

or is the stella 10 000 better for it ..i know they give the stickbait a better movement

as i was thinking about getting myself another stella in 20 000 so i can use it for jigging .. so will this work on stick bait gear so as i did not want to buy another stella 10 000  cos i own two of them for my gt gear  any way ..

or is it okay to use the stella 10 000 reel for jigging ?? so please share your thought,s to me thank,s for your time ..

Hey Mick,

You know me....speed speed speed!!!!!!!!!
Give me a blistering pace reel for jigging or popping anyday.
I learnt to deal with slowing down for slower/delicate presentations years ago from soooo much high speed spinning for tunas, queenies & mackerels.
It does take a little more practice to work a stick bait that is designed for slower speeds with a fire cracker reel, though you adapt.
My main concern is for 90% of casting for GT's, it's a fairly fast clip you need to bring in slack when fishing. And the fights don't go too long to sway me towards a slower reel for power or anything.
Better to have a fast reel used at a moderate pace all day than a slow one that cramps your arm when you failed to hook up at the end of an 80+m cast or jigging in 100+....been there...know that burning feeling!!!!!!

It's just what I prefer and I have grown used to.

Cheers

Aaron.
