alrighty i know everyone has their different opinions on what is to be and what is not to be appropriate for doggy jigging.Doing a coral sea trip in nov and want to maximise chances of landing a good fish. After getting an absolute beast of a shark (300kilo plus bronzey)boatside on 100pd fluro quite recently with a 50wide locked and having no wire trace and only a 7/0 circle hooked in the corner of the mouth,3.5hrs of rubbing on a sharks sand paper like skin, i am confident in the 100pd on pulling up dogs but what are the perks of heavier leader? as far as i am concerned if a dog gets to the reef under the 15-25kilo drag pressure that is potentially put on these fish your leader is going to pop regardless of what poundage your useing weather it be 100 or 200+...can someone tell me otherwise as at the moment im going to start with 100pd to maximise hookup rate useing 100pd braid as obviosuly the lighter you fish the less spooked the fish are.
