I'll talk about fishing the oil rigs in my country
I am from Kuwait , I've been fishing in the oil rigs for a long time in our waters
The oil rigs are restricted area since it's decided between Kuwait Iran and KSA
I normally fish in the Kuwait/KSA rigs since there is a lot of piracy in the Iran rigs
It has a variety of fish: snappers , all kind of trevalies , Spanish mackerels cobra, breams, barracuda , and AJ
, groupers
Normally I go either by live bait or using sabiki rigs or spear fishing
I tried jigging there a lot without luck except for small trevalies
Bonito tuna.. And this year some strange fish caught there one is mahi mahi which was 15 kg
And a type of tuna which was 20 kg and a small 10 kg GT
The AJ can grow 25 KG and bigger
Any suggestion on how to catch them with jigging?
It's really dangerous in the oil rigs and a lot of piracy accidents happened but armed with 3 engine 40'ft boat I have no problem escaping and I did it once
No risk no fun the fish is totally worth the risk
