Smith AMJ S52EX or Zenaq Fokeeto FS53-16
March 03, 2009, 09:21:53 AM
I'm looking to purchase a new jig stick for 400g jig and PE 6-8, matched to a Stella 10000FA with 20000 spool
I think i have it down to the Smith AMJ S52EX or Zenaq Fokeeto FS53-16.
Any advice or experience with these rods.

Ive got the Zenaq. Incredibly light rod and powerful. Little bit faster action than the AMJ and little stiffer as well but only rated PE 6-7. What sort of jigging you planning to do and what sort of fish you chasing?

I only have experience with the AMJ so i am sharing my 2 cents. 400-420g jig is probably the max you can push on this rod without losing efficiency. AMJ is a very light weight, extremely forgiving rod on the angler. Not too much stress on the angler which i really like
but still have the power to land fishes. I used this with PE6 line with 350-400g Jigs for sambo. Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Kai
