I've fished with Mogi and his Grouper Boys over the last 5 years and I've seen most of the Valley Hills rods in action. Since I don't jig with spinners, I don't have much experience with them except with Mogi's Maori Spirits OH rod. From what I've seen from Mogi & Co, the rods seem to be good performers that look good and are robust. One of the guys on my last trip described his ranking of the 3 rods in usage - Valley Hill, MC Works, Carpenter - but he never tried my Jigging Master!
The Maori Sprits rod is slightly longer than what I'd been used to (5' JM) and the rod seemed soft for a big gun. Under load it folds away nicely before its butt power comes into play. The MS is an easy rod to jig with and has an outstanding track record in Mogi's hands which proves it as an outstanding rod for big jigs and big fish.
Exploder - sorry, didn't test these.
