LR88 cast a good distance using 80 ~ 100 gr. pencils n chuggers and 125 ~ 150 gr. stickbait but these are my opinion , stronger n bigger guys of equal ability may be able to do better / cast a lot longer using LR88 .
In it's infancy in the form of LR86 , this rod was designed for Maldives area where one must cast a long , long way to reach the fishy areas from a big tourist boats . LR86 has now been improved to become LR88 with added ability to work stickbait and I see the trend in all Carpenter rods to be improved somewhat to work stickbait in the future , such example has already been implemented in SP80M which is an improved version of SP79M .
