Mission Red - We Have A Go
October 16, 2009, 10:38:44 PM
G'day all
Finally some time to posts pics on this stick, hope you like em. Now to make another in similar colors to try to get a better match on the grips on a new blank I am getting for the reel. I'll post some loaded up pics soon too. Now just need the red JM fighting belt and some 100lb jerry brown braid :-)

Thanks fellas, I am stoked how it turned out. Had a chance to load it up today. only just starts working at 10kg and takes 14kg to just put a decent type of bend in it. The bend is quite low down though so holding it at that doesnt take much effort. Even with a broken leg. Will try to get a couple of mates over somethime this week so I can take pics at various loads

These ones are the CMNAG mate, they are the chrome frame alconite rings. I prefer the alconites on my personal sticks at I am really clumsey with my gear and sick of replacing SiCs with hairline cracks and worse. The alconite rings are much more robust and impact resistant then the SiC ones and are diamond polished just like the SiCs. The surface hardness rating is not that far behind SiCs either. A lil side benefit is that they are a touch lighter then the SiC rings too.

Thanks

That stick is now shelved. I now have proper popper blanks so have discontinued the home developed efforts. New mission is to build one to match that maverick and one to built an 18k SW that I have my eye on. Not sure whether to go the 18k or the 10k though
