Jigging for big Samson off WA

Me and a good mate Peter fish with Saltwater Charter with skipper Craig today.

must say, a very happy client. he put everyone onto some good fish!!
Was a very enjoyable day.

Hooking up fish after fish, lots of good size samson laneded.

nice one eric,i see the River2sea searock 300g on the floor..Spoke to Craig,herd you pulled out on this mornings charter because both of you were to buggered!! hahaha welcome to jigging mate..

yes, we pull out the charter today. both arm and back still sore!!

Craig from saltwater is a top bloke mate!! Put everyone onto some good fish!

Haha burning arms are good..

Most jigging guides get you on to the samsons over there,spoke to craig,he didnt head out at all this morning due to the wind,some other charters ended up heading out!!

Some good photos there of good fish. May I just say though, while all the other pics demonstrate excellent handling techniques, a fish about to be released should never be lifted as in the first photo.

Thanks for sharing, nevertheless - it seems this year is a bumper season for Perth after the last few which were rather slow.

Excellent point Kasey, That fish was kept!!! will change the picture to the original one we took.

when that fish was landed, it was hold horizontally with both hand support the belly of the fish.

we then realise unfortunately, it was bleeding bad, (it was hooked bit deeper as it swallow the jig bit deep as well). and decide to keep the fish as it was not healthy to be release. it was
one of the two fish kept.

thank for bring this point up, i hope this clears up a bit!
