They are out there!

Hoping to get out this weekend but the weather might have something to say about that!

Testing lures, rigging, drags and FG knots as I type!

Hi Andy,

I'm playing with quite a few...I'm not sure what will work best just yet as these fish are very big!

Fisherman GT Monster 72 R10
Fisherman GT Game TRSH 76
OR & Temple Reef Black Devils
And a Carpenter I borrowed which I can't quite recall the model!

Hi John,

Quite a few reports of surface bust-ups well south of Sydney.

Allie Hunter got x2 Yellowfin to 60kg yesterday and saw schooling fish.

I'll likely be heading Kiama south in an Edgewater 21ft CC.

Hi Andy,

I really like the GT Monster 72 R10 for such a purpose but I'll need to test if it has enough tip to cast 70g.

If the fish get too skitterish then it may be too short to reach them. However, we have been getting right on top of them practically.

Nath,

do you know were these big YFT,  or could they of been a mix of big Yellowfin and Bluefin busting up on the surface?

to Luke or anyone who would know,

when there is and are big fish and solid fish jumping or busting up on the surface - what lure is best to cast at them with to have the best chance truly possible of hooking up?

thanks.

Luke that is a problem where matching the bait requires a smaller offering, have one of those longer rods ready with a smaller lure if this the case and the fish get shy.
