Tweed Heads Jigging

Hi guys

Stew, Richo and myself were on the water nice and early about 4.30am where we trolled some skirts on the way out to one of Stews hot jigging marks, I think it was first drop and we were bent over, this spot is home to a lot of smaller king fish and amberjack great fish to target on the jigs.

I was first up with this AJ.

Lots of fish around that size come to the boat in not long at all then Richo come up with this bigger model.

Not long after that we were onto a three way hook up, three more AJs come to the boat.

Stew and myself.

The lumo Jigging Master rocket and alien jigs were the killer on the day, also the lumo squid skirts on the assist hooks seemed rather tasty.

After landed a few more while jigging Stew dropped down a big plastic hoping there may be some snapper around, it didn't take long until a wee one jumped on board. Stew knowing it was only small was trying to shake it off instead of winding it up when all of a sudden smash, and now he was hanging on for his life trying to move whatever had taken the snapper of the bottom, unsure of what to expect as it wasn't fighting as hard as a king fish or AJs a few minutes later a solid Jew fish was on the surface.

Stew with the estimated 20kg Jew.

After that we headed out wide for a few hours trolling some skirts with no luck, we found a school of skippie's on the way in but nothing bigger was feeding on them.
The call was made to stop of at one of his other spots which hold bigger fish, after a few drops we didn't have any luck then my jig stopped.

Hooked up to a nice king.

After a bit of a scrap he was in the boat turned out to be a nice solid fish for the area.

Off to grow big so we can catch him another day.

Cheers Coxy

Hey Mick

The rod is a Jigging Master Power Spell 200S and the reel a twin power 6000.
