Lure storage bags

Hey guys, im starting to form quite a collection of poppers and jigs now, and although floating around in a giant box isnt hurting them im pretty keen to get some quality storage for them.
I recently bought a shout jig bag only to realise it fits only the very smallest of my jigs, there is an optional long jig bag but it doesnt provide measurements and i am skeptical that it may not fit 300mm jigs. Any Suggestions??

On the other hand i havent got any popper storage at all, i have seen some wraps that look pretty sick but struggle to find manufacturers and such?

With a trip to Montibellos not too far away any advice is appreciated.

I tend to carry jigs in a big plastic box. But then again I am a bit freaky and would often have as many as 30 (15 kgs!) with me....  . Ready made jig bags tend to be for small jigs as you have already discovered.

For poppers the best portable storage I have seen is the large roll up bag as offered by Australian Angling.  And the added benefit is the very reasonable price.

I store jigs in a plastic box or anything that's handy! With poppers, the shout large waterproof case and small case is what I use for storage on trips. I also carry a couple of those orange popper bags (no idea what they're called though) with mesh sides to store used poppers as they can easily be washed with fresh water afterwards. If you do a search on the forum, this has been discussed in the past before as well.

I found the team diawa jig bag to be very handy, stores half large jigs (350 and 400 grams) and half small jigs (up to about 200 grams) - very easy to get jigs out as well.

Also has a couple of pockets to store hooks etc.

I have a HPA Jig King and its great, just wish I bought a few more cards for it at the time. I have most of my small jigs on one card, medium size on another, large on a third and just take whatever I think I'll need for the day.

I use an HPA popper roll and Saltwater Lab jig bag.

I find jig rolls (home made by a mate) to be a bit better and easier to store on my boat,also easy to clean.
The HPA product is very high quality and I would recommend it if you "must have" a roll of some sort.

Bit of a pity I don't have a pic handy, but the HPA jig king has two types of cards that suit it.

1) One side has two rows of short jigs, loaded from each end, for a total of 32x 160mm, the other side has, top load, 17x 200mm.
2) One side has 10x 340mm jigs, the other side has, top load, 17x 200mm.

For jigs I have taken to using pencil cases - they save room in the bag, they are cheap and when the zip goes get a new one

Cheers guys, the HPA popper roll looks pretty sweet, might chase one if those up. You dont need to worry about travel expenses when you work in this part of the world, bigger is better!

Those hots bags look pretty good too fish head, cheers.
Looks like the old shout bag is going  to be a dust collector/ornament chock full of smaller jigs.

Hey Sam,

A company here in SOuth Africa makes pretty tough as nails lure bags, which come in 16 and 32 compartment versions, basically a zip up bag, which opens out and has a page in the middle with compartments on both sides... fits everything up to a Fullscale Sidewinder or Long Kong, and the compartments are big enough that one can usually fit at least two lures in each compartment, and sometimes 3, depending on lure size ( I get 3 Runbohs to a compartment )

They are relatrively cheap, especially by Japanese version standards, and tough as nails.... I've got two, one for STicks, one for poppers that go on trips with me, and then I just put a mix and match in one bag for each days fishing on the boat....
They are easy to clean, cheap, waterproof to a degree and as I've said above, tough as nails!

Only drawback is that the compartments don't have drain holes for rinsing, so what I did was punch a couple holes into each compartment so they can be sprayed down... I like to have one thats completely sealed and one I use for on the boat that can be washed down easily and effectively...

I'll shoot some pics tonight and post them up.... if guys are intersted I could probably organise to ship a bunch over to Oz...
