I noticed that this thread had some 50 odd views so i thought i would just share what i gathered from persons about this rod for whoever is interested. The rating on the rod suggests that it is capable of casting lighter lures, but a guy i spoke to about it said that he found the rating to be on the conservative side. He was unable to load the rod down at the lower end of the rating (30g) and even said that he was sure it could comfortably handle a 5 ounce popper which is slightly over the 130g rating.
I also read on another forum a post by someone who got good distance casting flitz. I'm assuming the 75g version. Now i'm not sure what size gammas and sea frogs Fukui-san was using with this rod, but i'm goin to guess they were around the 4ish ounce mark as well and he was cetainly belting those lures out there AND lets not forget that bibbed minnow he worked with it as well.
For someone looking for a rod to work a wide range of weights this could be a very good option. Hopefully sooner rather than later i will get my hands on one and form my own opinion.
