MC Works 777
June 16, 2011, 04:23:24 PM
Recently picked up an MC works Seven Mile 777 stick bait rod. Great looking rod and have matched it with a twin power 8000 which will be getting a studio ocean mark larger capacity spool and pe6 braid. Pity the Barrels are a bit hard to come by at then moment but will take it for a test at the montebello's this nov on gt's etc.

Hi Kyle,
I had the chance to bend the Seven Mile 777 on a couple of occasion i really love the bend of it, very hard to find those rods in the market and you are lucky to get a hold of it  :)
we tried to order many pieces for our shop from MC-Works and they only manage to get us couple,
i look forwards to your feed back on the rod, enjoy it!

I picked up a twin power 10,000 for the 777 and will add a studio oceanmark spool for a little extra capacity and when barrel time rolls on I will probably use my 6500 saltiga.

Off to bermagui on thursday as the bluefin have shown up there in numbers and will give the MC works a go but I think the saltiga 6500 filled with 55lb jigman is the go for capacity.

Did really well on the bluefin on saturday, got 3 fish between 30 and 40kg the 777 was a weapon on these average fish, had the fish at the back of the boat for about an hour and we got them on poppers, stick baits, jigs, cubes and plastics, released 15-20 between 3 of us in the 30-40kg bracket. Will link to a video once its uploaded.

Yes I was. Took us 3 hours to get in from the shelf!
