Getting some great results, Charles.
What is that Moana Kali? Looks like an almaco jack?
If it swims; I want to catch it!

The moana Kali is actually the goatfish pictured below the almaco jack, which we call kahala here in the islands.

Charles, I have yet to actually try out the lures I scooped from you earlier this month. Sending my rod back and gonna pull the trigger on a Carpenter rod! Might have to hit you up for a few more lures after I gt back in action.

Howzit Brandon, Marc pointed it out the red fish is the Moana Kali which is a popular fish to eat here. The one above it is the "Kahala" I guess you call it almaco jack? Most of the fish I know by there Hawaiian name or local name. It wasn't untill I started popping that I called Ulua "GT" haha.

Howzit Marc I think that was the best move I would have done the same thing.

Sweet report Charles!

Moana in Hawaiian means? Moana here in NZ means Sea or Ocean...

Nice fish Nate!
Thanks again Charlie for taking me out. Definitely a grind out there looking for the fish. Getting that fish on the last drift of the day made it all worth it.

If you wanna catch fish on Big Island of Hawaii, you gotta make looong hikes and sleep on bare lava rocks with a smooth rock for a pillow. Or you could just go fishing with Charlie on Oahu!

My friends best GT yet at right around 30kilos. He's a big guy at 6'3" and the fish still looks big!

Howzit Guys,

Here's some action from Hawaii. Things have been a little slow lately but guys are still picking them off. My buddy Duane recently tied the knot and we introduced his best man who was in town to GT Popping. First cast ever for him with a GT Rod and Lure and he hooks up not a GT but still counts as you can't have that first cast back lol. He would go on to hookup into two more fish but they both shake him off, great effort from the new guy!

Duane hooks up early and puts one in the boat with a little banter from his best man  ;D

Phenix Megladon rod and LunchBox Tornado

The guys out in Kauai have been picking off some fun size GT's off the shore.....

Shimano Orca

Rapala X rap

We've been hard at work promoting GT Popping in Hawaii and this past weekend we did a demo at The Hawaii fishing and seafood festival. We let spectators try out different popping rods and lures. Lots of fun for everyone.

Our demo crew Duane, myself, Aaron, Brian, and Ladd.

Check out this kid popping a MC works Raging Bull! Next generation of Poppers in Hawaii :)

Kawika and the boyz in Molokai get some action and cross paths with some bruisers.

LunchBox Tornado

GTFC Skipjack 150

GTFC Cubera 150 "Poi Pounda"

I finally get out to do some shoreline fishing and hook up into a catch of a lifetime, I land a nice yellowfin tuna from the sand at a beach near my house. I drag the fish back to my truck, ask some local fisherman to take some quick pics and drive home stopping on the way for some ice. I soak it all up and crack a beer at 800am in the morning to celebrate ;D.

Custom Saltywater Tackle/ Carpenter Endless Passion 810/42R-P1-ICBM, Stella 10k and 65lb Tuffline/80lb Ande Mono and a Shimano Waxwing.

41lbs on a bathroom scale

Last but not least finally did some Bass fishing with the kids and my son hooks into his first peacock bass, with a little help from dad  ;)

Aloha,

Charles

I noticed you've started using the SWB stellas, how are they holding up? Aswel as the previous model?
