Either that guy is 4'5" and weighs 35kg or that fish is pushing 75-80kg! What a monster!

It was caught in Oman last week by a Spanish angler - it was approx 55kg.

That is one superb fish and definitely looks bigger than 55 kg.

I guess that's the combination of a smallish guy and a wide angle lens.

But 55 is still one hell of a fish!

In the end Andrew, if it makes the angler feel good, and of course makes the charter operator feel good, then no harm done.  I think all of us now know the effect a wide angle lens has  .

All that being said, let's not belittle a 55 kg capture which is something anyone should be proud of.  That's a very fine fish.

Bloody fabulous fish for sure and big congratulations to Alex Rios.

It's also a very good example of the way a fish is photographed effecting the comments it will elicite.

For example, I think the fish below was bigger than the 55 kgs estimated above (check out the tail!), and yet when it was posted here it received no comments at all. The power of a good photo eh?
