How to Strike a GT! Classic Vid!

In the Musandam Oman we have a special guy working for us called Anura. Anura and his wife are from Sri Lanka and look after our villa and pretty much run our lives up there! They are an amazing couple and anyone that meets them will agree they are awesome.

Anura used to work as a cleaner in a morgue and then in one of the Hotels before he came to work for Ocean Active to look after our villa. But Anura has over the years become a great fisherman and has built up some great tackle. Anura did not grow up fishing and so he has learnt everything from scratch! Now he can tie all the knots, talk tackle with anyone and catch GTs flat out!

This was the guys fishing last week up in the Musandam. Anura caught a couple of fish but this little video is a classic on how to hit a GT properly! We always rag him that he is to soft on the GTs, so he has come up with a new plan on how to smoke a GT! What also needs to be remembered is Anura weighs about 45kgs! So the little guy will do whatever it takes to Hit iT!!!!

Even with summer here in full force and the temperatures over 45 degrees C (+-115 Fahrenheit) we still have coolish water and catching some great fish. Most of the big fish seem to have headed for deeper water but some GTs have stayed behind providing some good fun! Looks like we might make it close to july before the fishing stops! Definitely brings a new meaning to "The fishing is hot!" and most probably as extreme as it gets!

Hi Sam, I think the lips got ripped off as well! The problem we been giving him so much uphill that he is loosing all the fish as he is not hitting them hard enough so he took it to the extreme!! When I first saw this I almost fell off my seat laughing!! The best is he puts the rod into the harness and then decided he needs a give a bit more!!
