Hi All

Keen fisherman from Perth here, fished all my life, popped for all sorts of fish but never targeted GT's specifically.  Get away for a fishing trip at least once a year mainly to the north of WA.  I have popped for Spanglies and Goldens in Exmouth, great fun.  I am heading to Coral Bay and then Shark Bay in May this year and hope to nail some GT's whilst I am there.  Cracking site this one, I joined a couple of years ago but have never looked much, that has sinced changed, there is enough content here now to read for a month non stop.  Credit to Luke and Brandon.
Cheers

Hi All,

I'm Tony from Florida in the US. I'm currently still in college and can't afford it but would love to eventually take a few trips to your side of the ocean to catch GT and Kingfish. Nice to meet you all.

Hello my name is Lee Margrave,  I live in the U.S. and am a newbie to GT fishing.  I have fished most of the Pacific Coast and most of Baja Mexico, Alaska,Panama, etc.. Can't wait to hook up on a GT. I've been reading and learning an enormous amount of information , equipment, and some of the finer points as well.  I also know know that their is no substitute for experience.  Everyone seems to be very helpful.  I am 56 years old and am a Construction contractor.  I have lived in Idaho for the last 18 years but will move in the next two years if all goes as planned.  I want to be closer to the fish. I love the ocean.  I also love to hunt big game, not much on bird hunting. I have been hunting deer, elk, antelope, wild boar and moose for the last 26 years or so. Have been fortunate especially with the moose. Couple of real monsters and a dozen or so respectfull size.  I might get together with Luke on the "newbie special" but might learn more watching some of you guys.    Cheers       Lee

hi guys
my name is Tony Spiteri and I own and run Two Up Fishing Charters and also skipper a 51ft Riveria called Game Over.  We fish for snapper and tuna in victoria and marlin and sportsfishing from Port Stevens to Cooktown.  The last six years I have had the privalge to fish on board Game Over up north and in that time I have had a ball catching anything from gaint black marlin to all the sportsfish and the fantastic Gt. This year we are heading down to portland and want to give the bluefin a go on poppers and stickbaits, had a ball in 2008 where we ended up catching a heap of southern blue fin throwing soft plastics at them so i think you would have good fun with poppers or stickbaits can't wait to give it a try.

Hi All, I am a kiwi living in Auckland and very keen to tangle with a Gt. We don't have them in NZ so have to make do with Kingfish. I would appreciate any advice as to where to go and any good charters in Australia that  could put us onto a GT. We are looking at doing a trip somewhere in July/August so all or any suggestions welcome.
Cheers :)

Greetings Friends,

Thanks for a great site. As a newbie to the world of GT popping, the information shared by all
of you has been invaluable. Just sorted a Stella 20000 and a decent rod for myself this week
and am ready to take on those big GT's. Lots to learn ahead with improving the ol' technique, but I'm
sure I'll enjoy the learning curve.

I'd like to say a thankyou to the lads at Australian Bass Angler(Penrith) and Compleat Angler(Sydney CBD)
for their advice and for being top blokes.

Now to plan one of those Nomad adventures!!(They look awesome, just watched GT Mania on dvd)

"We're not here for a long time, so lets have a good time!"

Cheers Yudash

First off great site guys  :D

Quick intro, Another Kiwi here keen on top water fishing. I started out with mostly LBG fishing for Kingfish, but also enjoy popping etc on the boat.

My LBG background got me interested in "Pluggin" a style of fishing not widely used in NZ which has now created a obsession with lures, I started making my own and this has slowly transitioned into making lures for others and kept the obsession going. I know there are some great fisherman and a lot of experience on this site so I will be trawling through posts while the epoxy sets up... ;)

I am really looking forward to getting my first GT trip under my belt, and getting a range of top water lures for kings and GT's dialed in ;)

Cheers  8)
